The GATHER Fellowship is part of a bigger initiative that Seeds of Peace launched early 2015, GATHER.
The GATHER Fellowship is a targeted investment in people who are innovative and exceptional in their thinking. GATHER Fellows are value-driven, possessing leadership qualities, social consciousness, and an entrepreneurial drive, and the impact of their work lies at the cusp of social change and conflict transformation.
The Fellowship works through accelerating the impact of Fellows’ established organizations, launched initiatives, running projects or—in some cases—ideas, that are yet to be developed. It does so through working in conjunction with each Fellow on identifying their professional goals, and connecting them with the resources needed to reach these goals and scale their work, and thus measurable impact.
Activities of the Fellowship—coaching, individualized feedback, trainings—vary from one Fellow to the other depending on their project and its stage of development. The centerpiece of the GATHER Fellowship is the New Fellows Retreat, a week-long leadership accelerator during which Fellows go through a multitude of learning, skill-building and networking opportunities that are relevant to their professional development and initiatives irrespective of the sector or issue-area they address.
GATHER Fellows receive a stipend to be used to further their work or leadership development, or improve their abilities to steer their social change endeavors by benefiting from opportunities over and above those outlined in the plan drawn up for them—no strings attached.
The GATHER Fellowship activities are spread over one year, although Fellows’ access to the GATHER network and Seeds of Peace community continues beyond the Fellowship duration.
• 21 years of age or older.
• Keen on joining a value-driven, unique community of changemakers.
• Leading an organization/venture that is creating change in your community.
GATHER supports innovative and unique approaches that can advance social change and impact conflict. Your organization/venture could be a non-profit, for-profit or has a hybrid funding, but needs to have a clear social focus. While preference goes to efforts already launched and seeking scale, exceptions may be made for those that are yet to be launched, on a case-by-case basis.
