Support youth from around the world as they build bridges across lines of difference.
As a counselor at the Seeds of Peace Camp, you will work as a mentor and role model to supervise and engage with young people as they embark on a challenging dialogue and leadership development program. You will support campers at mealtimes and in bunks, and lead different activities (sports, arts, youth leadership, music, etc.).
All counselors are expected to commit from July 10 to August 10, 2026, which includes orientation, the session, and wrap-up.

Overall Job Purpose
The Camp staff team consists of counselors, facilitators, and a leadership team, all working together to create and implement the Camp program and contribute to an environment of harmony. The counselor role is to guide and mentor campers in their day-to-day experience of Camp. Counselors are by campers’ side throughout their journey, encouraging and supporting them along the way.
Main responsibilities
Support and Supervision
- Supervise campers in residential groups, ensuring you know where campers are at all times.
- Get to know each camper individually and provide the support they need to help them have a safe and successful Camp experience.
- Support campers in their day-to-day needs, including proactively supporting campers’ emotional and physical well-being and managing camper behavior.
- Mentor and prioritize the well-being of campers at all times, while acting as a role model and offering guidance and support to campers.
- Work with other staff to address complex issues and ensure camper well-being.
- Maintain open communication with campers to uphold a supportive atmosphere.
- Facilitate cultural exchange and understanding between campers by embracing and celebrating their diverse backgrounds.
Additional Camp Support
- Contribute to an atmosphere of communication, trust, and respect on Camp.
- Adhere to all Seeds of Peace policies and procedures to create a Camp environment that is physically and emotionally safe.
- Commit to professionalism in an informal educational space.
Prerequisite knowledge, skills, and competencies
Required
- Spoken and written fluency in English

Desirable
- Experience in working with young people in education, peacebuilding or other in residential settings.
- Knowledge of Seeds of Peace Camp philosophies and traditions.
- Fluency in multiple languages.
- Significant experience working in a multi-cultural environment, including knowledge of cultural sensitivities regarding Seeds of Peace delegations.
This position is residential, meaning meals and accommodation are provided during Camp and staff training. Furthermore, the expense of travel to and from Camp and the cost of visa application fees (if applicable) are covered by Seeds of Peace. All staff are required to commit to the full duration of the session (July 18 to August 10), and participate in a mandatory staff training held both online before Camp and in person at Camp from July 10-17.
