Paul Stapleton

Global Programming Lead

Paul is an Irish educator who has spent years working with young people in both formal and informal educational environments, and within the NGO sector on social innovation, community management, and international programme development.

Through his work with SeriousFun Children’s Network, Paul has worked all over the world in creating and running psycho-social programmes for young people with serious illnesses which aimed to restore their confidence and create a positive self-image. He has a passionately held belief in the power of camp to create transformative experiences for young people.

In his years of working with the global NGO Ashoka, he gained experience in systems changing social innovations and supporting organisations to grow their scale to an international and intercontinental level. His role at Seeds of Peace lies at the intersection of his experiences in youth programming and social change, and Paul aims to use these skills to create meaningful change for young people worldwide in building a more peaceful society and future.

Outside of his work, Paul enjoys spending time planning adventures in nature, tinkering on projects that involve houseboats and camper vans and discovering musical acts from countries all over the world.

“In a time of consistent political conflict and accelerated social and technological change, Seeds of Peace provides an opportunity for the most humane of experiences—connection, understanding, dialogue, and acceptance of difference. Offering and participating in this experience shows that there is a way forward in peacebuilding.”
