Johan Berggren

Johan is Deputy Director of the Parliamentary Office and Director of Planning, Moderate Party, Sweden. He was formerly Chief of Staff at the Office of the Quartet in Jerusalem.

As an advisor to Quartet Representative Tony Blair, he was closely involved in the development of the Initiative for the Palestinian Economy, the economic pillar of the US-led peace negotiations between Israelis and Palestinians in 2013-2014.

Johan previously worked at the Swedish Prime Minister’s Office as Chief of Planning and Chief Speechwriter to Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt, and served in the Swedish Ministries of Defence, Foreign Affairs, and Finance, including as Political Advisor to Minister of Finance Anders Borg and Minster for International Development Gunilla Carlsson. Before joining the Swedish civil service, he was a management consultant at McKinsey.

Johan holds a B.A. in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics from Oxford University, an M.A. in International Relations from Uppsala University, and an M.A. in European Economics from the College of Europe.
