How to register on CampDoc
An invitation to manage your camper’s CampDoc profile was sent to the email address you gave to Seeds of Peace. In your camper’s CampDoc profile you will need to complete all health information, make camp payments (if you have payment due and have chosen to pay by credit card), and sign all required waivers and forms.
The link to the CampDoc login page is https://app.campdoc.com/!/dn/login?r=seedsofpeace.
Helpful tip: If you attended Seeds of Peace Camp in 2022 you can use the same login information to log into your CampDoc account. You will be notified that you have been registered for 2023 and will be able to update information and waivers for this year.
If you did not attend Seeds of Peace Camp in 2022, click on the link in your email invitation to set-up your login information and manage your profile.
On your CampDoc profile homepage, ignore the “Protection Plan” and “Custom Labels” sections. You do not need these for Seeds of Peace Camp. These are optional and we do not recommend that you use these services.
For US participants only: Make any tuition payments following these instructions ››
Email us at registrar@seedsofpeace.org with any questions or if you need help registering. If you have trouble uploading forms to CampDoc, send your signed forms to this same email.
Language Translation: Would you like support in translating to another language? Email camp@seedsofpeace.org with information about where you live and what language is needed, and we will connect you with staff who can support you.
Food allergies and dietary needs
If you have severe allergies that require the use of an Epi-Pen, make sure that the Allergies section is completed in CampDoc along with the Epi-Pen/inhaler form signed by your doctor.
If you have dietary restrictions of any kind, make sure that this information is filled out in your CampDoc profile. If you would like to speak with Keith, our Food Services Director, about dietary concerns, email healthcenter@seedsofpeace.org before June 16.
Vegetarian and vegan options will be available at all meals. Food with allergens such as gluten, milk, eggs, and nuts will be labeled. There will be no peanuts at Camp.
All meat served at Seeds of Peace is halal. Food will be served kosher style (won’t mix meat and dairy). If your camper keeps kosher and would like to speak with our Food Services Director, write to healthcenter@seedsofpeace.org.
We do not recommend bringing food with you to Camp. We provide three meals and additional snacks throughout each day and we promise you will have what you need and will not go hungry! You are welcome to bring snacks for your bus or plane travel to Camp. We will provide snacks for you to take for your bus and/or plane travel home. You will not be allowed to store any food or snacks in your cabin to avoid problems with bugs or animals. DO NOT bring any snacks that contain nuts. If you have any questions or concerns about food availability, email Keith, our Food Services Director, at healthcenter@seedsofpeace.org before June 16.
Life at Camp
Campers participate in several fun, engaging, and meaningful activities each day. Activities include swimming in the lake, playing team sports like soccer, basketball, and football, doing arts & crafts, performance arts and dance, gardening, and more – in addition to dialogue, community action, and group leadership challenges that make the Seeds of Peace Camp experience unique.
To read more about a typical daily schedule (subject to change) and other aspects of life at Camp, check out our FAQ page ››
Travel
Group travel to Camp is being organized by location. You should receive information about your camper’s specific travel plans by email. If you have not been sent your travel plans or if you have any questions about travel, email registrar@seedsofpeace.org.
How to communicate with your camper
Letters
Campers love receiving letters from family and friends at home! Send letters to the following address:
(Camper’s name)
Seeds of Peace Camp
183 Powhatan Road
Otisfield, ME 04270
Do not mail packages. We encourage you to send emails or letters to stay in touch with your camper. Camp will provide toiletries and extra clothing for campers who need them. We also provide meals and snacks, so no food needs to be delivered to Camp. If you need to send your camper medications or other emergency essentials, call our Camp office at +1 202-544–3000 (cell or Whatsapp) or email camp@seedsofpeace.org and our Camp Staff may approve specific requests.
Phone calls
Your camper will be able to call home a few times during the Camp session. We will email the phone schedule to parents/guardians at the beginning of the session.
Emails
You are welcome to send your camper an email at campers@seedsofpeace.org. We will deliver the emails to campers once each day just like we deliver paper mail. Campers will not be able to check personal emails and will not be able to respond to these emails. Write the first and last names of the camper in the subject line of each email to ensure delivery. If you need to reach your camper more quickly or in an emergency, call us at Camp rather than sending an email.
Talk to staff
General Questions: If you are curious how your camper is doing or have other questions about Camp, call or text the Camp office at +1 202-544–3000 (cell or Whatsapp) or reach out to your local chaperones.
Health Questions: If you have questions related to your camper’s physical or mental health, email our fantastic healthcare team at the Camp Health Center at healthcenter@seedsofpeace.org.
Emergencies only
An emergency phone line will be available 24/7. Only call the emergency line if there is a serious emergency and you need to contact your camper immediately! The phone number will be posted here at the start of the summer.
Other ways to stay up to date
View photos from Camp updated daily on Flickr, and read daily Camp Reports (coming soon).
Religious observation
Camp is an inclusive interfaith environment. Prayer times will be posted and staff and campers will be supported in creating services following their faith tradition as outlined below. We are dedicated to creating an engaging interfaith learning environment where campers are able to practice their religion and to learn from the religious practice of others, whether campers are secular, observant, atheist, or agnostic.
INDIVIDUAL PRAYER
Campers can be excused from an activity to pray with the permission of the staff leading the activity.
It is the responsibility of campers to keep track of prayer times. We believe it is the individual responsibility of campers to fulfill their own religious obligations, and while we will offer opportunities for religious observance at Camp, it is not staff responsibility to ensure campers are praying.
There is a designated prayer room onsite, where everyone must take off their shoes before entering. It is the responsibility of campers and counselors to maintain this prayer space as respectfully as possible.
SERVICES
Muslim services: We will hold group outdoor services in the afternoon on Fridays. During some weeks, a visiting imam may be able to lead the services. During other weeks, campers and staff who identify as Muslim will lead the services for each other.
Jewish services: We will hold group outdoor services in the evening on Fridays. During some weeks, a visiting rabbi may be able to lead the services. During other weeks, campers and staff who identify as Jewish will lead the services for each other.
Christian services: We will hold group Christian services in the morning on Sundays. During some weeks, a visiting pastor may be able to lead the services. During other weeks, campers and staff who identify as Christian will lead the services for each other, or watch a live-stream of Mass.
We also have the opportunity for the observation of other services, such as Hindu and Zoroastrian services, depending on campers’ needs each session.
Medications
All medications and vitamins must be listed in CampDoc and brought to Camp in their original packaging (store-bought packages or pharmacy-provided containers). Label them clearly with the camper’s name and directions for administration in English. All medications will be stored safely in the Camp Health Center. During camper arrival day, the Health Center team will review all camper medications and administration times, and we will keep track of medications using the CampDoc registration system.
Camper supports
There is a 1:6 camper-to-counselor ratio within bunks, so counselors are never far away if a camper needs support or guidance. Bunk counselors are all over the age of 20. Campers have many other adult supports on Camp, including facilitators, activity leads, the Camp leadership team, and the medical team who are available to campers around the clock.
Our whole team, including our medical and mental health staff, is committed to the wholistic wellness of our campers. We have regular moments during each day where we check in with campers and everyone is routinely encouraged to see out the support they need as they move through their time at Camp. We will have multiple mental health professionals on site with us this summer, including both a licensed social worker and a licensed psychologist. We are dedicated to ensuring that staff and campers have the tools they need to have a safe and meaningful summer experience.
All Camp staff complete training in positive youth development, trauma-informed engagement, mandated reporting, activity design, sexual harassment, and basic youth mental health supports. Key staff will also be trained in CPR and concussion response.
All staff are mandated reporters. This means that if a camper shares something with a staff person that makes us concerned that a camper is at risk of child abuse (including neglect) at their home or elsewhere, we must report our concerns to the Maine Department of Health and Human Services.
If your child sees a psychologist, psychiatrist, or therapist, ask the mental health professional to fill out and submit the Mental Health Provider Form within the Mental, Social, Emotional History Section of the Health Profile in Camp Doc. If you have issues uploading the completed form, you can submit by email to camp@seedsofpeace.org.
If your child sees a therapist regularly, we encourage them to continue with virtual therapy when at Camp. Our camper support specialist can coordinate directly with you and the therapist so that the appointments are held during an appropriate time in the Camp schedule, and we will support the camper in logging into a Camp laptop. If your child will be continuing virtual therapy at Camp, email healthcenter@seedsofpeace.org.
