For the past 25 years, Seeds of Peace has been an important and integral part of the Toll family, and in turn, the Toll family has been an integral part of Seeds of Peace.
The connection goes all the way back to Bob’s childhood as a camper at Camp Powhatan. From helping it become the Seeds of Peace Camp and watching hundreds of campers flourish every year, to seeing the joy of their son Jake as he served as a counselor, to organizing Toll Brothers staff volunteers to prep the grounds every summer, the Tolls have been instrumental in every aspect of Seeds of Peace and its success.
Today, the Camp has been leased back to Seeds of Peace in perpetuity so that new generations of young people can have the “Seeds” experience, and all the members of the Toll Family, including Jake who is on the Seeds of Peace Global Leadership Council, are stewarding this beautiful land to be used today and into the future.
As the organization has grown from 46 campers in 1993 to the thriving year-round leadership program it is today with over 7,000 alumni, we couldn’t be more proud of our association with Jane and Bob Toll and the inspiring foundation and legacy they have created.
Contributions to the Jane and Bob Toll Fund at Seeds of Peace will be used to sustain the Camp experience through scholarships and key operational investments. A gift to this Fund honors their role in transforming Seeds of Peace from a traditional Maine summer camp on Pleasant Lake into a unique and innovative leadership program that transforms the lives of young people, with Camp as a transformative entry point.
Daily headlines remind us of the urgent need for effective and courageous leadership around the world. Seeds of Peace alumni from 27 countries are having an impact far beyond their families, schools, and peers. With their courage, determination, and commitment, they are becoming the politicians, journalists, teachers, business leaders, community organizers, and changemakers of the next generation.
Your investment—to be recognized at the 25th Anniversary Spring Benefit on May 9, 2018—will accelerate the impact of Seeds of Peace’s courageous young leaders in their continuing work for peace. And it will help us honor the extraordinary leadership of the Toll family.
