United States Department of State
The U.S. Department of State considers Seeds of Peace an important ally in securing peace in regions of conflict and has been a generous supporter of the organization since 2000, when it first approached Seeds of Peace to explore the feasibility of a program aimed at South Asian youth—a program that started in 2001 and resulted in the participation of Afghan, Indian, and Pakistani delegations at the Seeds of Peace Camp.
More recently, the United States Consulate General in Jerusalem and the U.S. Embassy in Tel Aviv funded regional programming in Palestine and Israel to accelerate the work of our alumni and to provide regional opportunities for leadership development and training.
“Your energy and courage are an inspiration to all of us. You remind us what really matters: To reach beyond cultural norms and historical hostilities to build real, personal relations across borders and barriers ... The State Department is proud to support you, Seeds of Peace, in your important efforts.”
— Judith A. McHale, Under Secretary for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs
