Amer Kamal

Amer grew up in Jerusalem and has been a member of Seeds of Peace since 1997 when he attended Camp with the Palestinian delegation.

Amer built and managed the payments business at USAA—the most-loved financial services brand in the U.S. There he was responsible for all payments capabilities, including all payment rails, money management platforms, and open banking.

Prior to USAA, he built The US Bank – Elavon payments studio from the ground up to deliver banking-as-a-service solutions. He also turned around the fifth largest bank mobile application from 1 star to 4.8 stars and positioned to be the market leader.

He launched multiple award-winning and market-first digital and payments products and mobile apps.

Amer is a board member and executive advisor for Baba’s Food Company, a modern Middle Eastern food brand founded by his wife, Rana. He is also a member of the board of directors of the Financial Data Exchange in DC and serves on several other industry forums. He is alumnus of the World Economic Forum Global Shapers and Seeds of Peace Global Leadership Council.

Amer has an MBA from IE Business School in Madrid, UCLA Anderson School of Management in Los Angeles, Singapore Management University, and Insper Instituto de Ensino e Pesquisa in São Paulo.

Amer is one of the producers of Peace of Mind, one of the first joint Arab/Israeli documentaries in history.
