Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Co-Facilitator to facilitate and coach a team of educators as part of the Delegation Leaders program at the Seeds of Peace Camp in Maine. The Co-Facilitator will collaborate with the Delegation Leader Head and the Camp’s facilitation team to facilitate engaging, transformative, and adaptable learning experiences. The Co-Facilitator will also build strong relationships with Delegation Leaders, contribute to the broader camp community, and support additional camp responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate Workshops: Lead dynamic and interactive workshops for Delegation Leaders, fostering skills in dialogue, leadership, and collaboration.
- Co-Design Curriculum: Collaborate with the facilitation team to co-create and iterate on workshop content, ensuring it is responsive to the needs and emerging themes of the participants.
- Build Relationships: Cultivate meaningful connections with Delegation Leaders, offering support and guidance throughout the program.
- Contribute to Camp Operations: Assist with other camp responsibilities as needed, contributing to the smooth operation and positive experience of the program.
- Debrief and Reflect: Participate in post-workshop debriefs with the facilitation team to reflect on sessions, identify areas for improvement, and adjust future workshop plans.
Qualifications
- Experience in Facilitation: Demonstrated experience facilitating workshops or educational programs for adults. Experience with youth education is a plus.
- Adaptive Facilitation Skills: Ability to be flexible with workshop content, adjust workshop activities in response to emerging themes, participant needs, and group dynamics.
- Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Ability to foster trust, connection, and collaboration with diverse groups of youth and young adults.
- Flexibility and Camp Contributor: Willingness to contribute to various camp responsibilities beyond workshop facilitation.
- Commitment to Dialogue and Leadership: Passion for youth development, dialogue across conflict, and leadership with a strong commitment to creating an inclusive and empowering learning environment that challenges participants to address internal, interpersonal, and systemic dynamics.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in holding dialogues across conflict, civic engagement, and/or dialogue and or negotiation methodologies.
- Previous experience in summer camps, youth leadership programs, or similar immersive environments.
- Familiarity with experiential learning and participatory workshop design.
