IMPACT: SOCIAL

Using superhero comic books to combat gender biases.

How have you impacted your community?

Over the past few years, I have tried different ways to do so through life skills workshops, games, sports etc., and found superheroes as one of the most effective mediums to do so. Research says that even in our low moments, belief in superheroes and superpowers gives us hope and agency to overcome obstacles.

I am therefore creating superhero comic books for children that help break gender biases.

I am a life skills educator from India. For the last few years, I have been conducting experiential learning workshops with children. I love to design educational aids and board games. In my previous avatar, I was a public policy consultant advising governments in India, Vietnam, Nepal, Saudi Arabia, and Laos. I was also consulted with several rural grassroots organizations.

I am a Public Policy Graduate from Harvard University and Management Graduate from IIT Kharagpur.

“I want to be able to build self-agency in all children so that they are able to face challenges of today's world and navigate a better future for themselves.”
