Uraib is a Palestinian resident of East Jerusalem, where she lives with her three children. She comes from a family that is well-known around the Arab world for making Oriental Sweets, especially Motabaq, which her family has been making since 1864.
She has lived in Jerusalem all her life and has worked in various fields throughout the course of her career—in hotels for ten years, travel agencies for four years, five years with the United Nations, and two years with USAID. She holds three diplomas in Business Administration, Hotel Management with a major in Hotel accounting, plus a new Project Management Diploma all from Bethlehem University.
Uraib’s lifelong dream is to help others improve their lives; personally, she is committed to reforming her own life and bettering it in any way she can. Since joining Seeds of Peace, Uraib has developed a particular interest in improving her management skills. She currently is enrolled in a Business Administration program at Tel Aviv University.
“As a result of my own experiences, I am familiar with the despair and frustration of those struggling to survive. I am convinced that increasing individuals’ access to leadership and capacity building programs can make a great difference in their own lives and the lives of others.”
