Lisa Cronin
Lisa Cronin has been a secondary school teacher for the last 17 years. Over the course of her career, Lisa has taught Geography, US History, Sophomore English, Creative Writing, ESL, and AP English Literature and Composition.
Her teaching experience began in a New Jersey inner city school for special education students with behavior challenges. After moving to Maine, she focused her career on students in impoverished areas and presently teaches English at Dexter Regional High School.
Lisa holds a Masters Degree in Social Studies Education and is currently pursuing her CAS degree in Educational Leadership with the hope of one day becoming a Principal of a Maine high school.
Since 2007, Lisa has held many roles with the Maine Seeds program as the Program Coordinator, Facilitator, Delegation Leader, and Advisor. Over the years she has had different responsibilities, but all of them were held with two goals in mind: to teach students how to lead, and to empower the leaders of tomorrow.
“The Irish proverb, ‘God gave us two ears and one mouth, so we ought to listen twice as much as we speak’ expresses the heart of the Maine Seeds program. We teach our Seeds the importance of active listening, so that when it comes time for them to lead, they will hear every voice and be able to make responsible decisions.”
