Andrew Koskinen

Director, US Programs (New York)

Andrew joined Seeds of Peace as the Director of US Programs in the Spring of 2019. He has a background in strength-based social work and has worked in the New York City non-profit sector for going on ten years.

Before joining the Seeds of Peace team, Andrew worked for several community-based organizations throughout New York City, all committed to the development of young leaders, including the YMCA of Greater New York, The Posse Foundation, and the Henry Street Settlement. He truly believes in the power of dialogue and the capacity for young people to positively impact their own worlds.

Andrew is originally from the Midwest and now calls Queens home. He received his undergraduate degree from Ohio University and earned his master’s degree in social work from the Silberman School of Social Work at CUNY Hunter College. Next time you see him, ask how Everton football club is doing.

“Something really special happens when you provide young adults the space to reimagine what their communities could look like. It’s been my experience that more often than not, young adults imagine a society that is more inclusive and vibrant than the one that we live in now. Seeds of Peace has helped create that space since its inception, and I’m just grateful to be a part of that process.”
