Now that Stand Up for Peace has ended it is time for us to begin with preparations for our biggest event of next year: Peace Market 2013! The event is organized by the YLC and as always, all proceeds benefit the great work that Seeds of Peace does to empower new generations of leaders promoting peace in conflict regions. We will be in need of an amazing group of volunteers for this event to take on any number of responsibilities including public relations, development, design, and entertainment. Thank you for all of the time and effort that you put into making the 7th annual Peace Market a sold out event that raised over $300,000! The proceeds from the event and from generous corporate sponsorships will allow 50+ young leaders attend Seeds of Peace Camp in Maine and will help support ongoing programs in the Middle East and South Asia throughout the year.

The record number of attendees at the 2012 Peace Market enjoyed delectable cuisine from New York City’s most sought-after restaurateurs, music from New York City’s hottest DJs, and a performance by the irresistibly funky Bad Rabbits, all within the beautifully decorated Metropolitan Pavilion. Dear Supporters of the Young Leadership Committee (YLC),

The Young Leadership Committee’s (YLC’s) volunteerism, fundraising efforts, donations, and support of YLC events have generated hundreds of thousands of dollars to empower a new generation of leaders committed to peace. We are so thankful to have such a dedicated and dynamic group of young professionals committed to raising critical funds for and awareness about the work of Seeds of Peace. The YLC in particular is recognized for its leadership and volunteer efforts to produce some of New York City’s most exciting fundraising events.

We would like to extend the opportunity to join this unique network and become a member of the YLC.

Your annual membership dues will allow us to continue to develop exclusive programming for the YLC and Seeds of Peace graduates as well as provide us with the critical infrastructure to support our major fundraising efforts on behalf of the YLC such as the YLC Summit, the Annual Comedy Show, and the Peace Market.

Each membership includes periodic updates from Seeds of Peace and early access to our YLC events in addition to the other exciting benefits listed below.

We heard from Seeds who attended Camp in every year since we first started bringing young people together on the shores of Pleasant Lake. We heard from parents of Seeds who would give anything to share the life-transforming experiences of their kids with other young people. We heard from general supporters, people who believe in our work and want to multiply the scope of who we are able to reach, and from celebrities, including Yoko Ono and Macy Gray. In just one week, over 15,000 of you responded to our request, an all-time record for us, bringing us within 79 votes of winning!

We are honored to have been competing with other organizations committed to empowering young people to promote sustainable change in the Youth Development category.

The stories and kind words you shared about Seeds of Peace demonstrated to thousands of people the rock-hard resolve of our community and the power we all have to make peace possible.
