Seeds of Peace

Music ActivityIn order to better understand "the other side," it is paramount for Israeli and Palestinian Seeds to learn more about each other’s cultures. To help facilitate this, Seeds of Peace coordinates various cultural and historical site visits to cities of mixed Arab and Jewish populations in Israel. The goal of this program is to help Seeds understand first-hand the challenges of coexistence in Israel in general and in specific cities visited with mixed populations. Participants learn about the history of the places visited and understand how language differences have shaped the cultural context of these communities.

Seeds of Peace is also proud to launch a new theater program for Israeli and Palestinian Seeds. The participants, in workshops conducted partly in Arabic and Hebrew, will write and stage a play to be performed for an audience of Seeds and parents. With theater as their outlet, these Seeds participating as actors will gain a deeper understanding of the nature of the conflict.

To round out this exciting cultural education program, Seeds of Peace is offering a great opportunity for Palestinian and Israeli Seeds interested in music. Under the guidance of one Israeli and one Palestinian musician, this group meets several times and create a musical composition with lyrics in Hebrew and Arabic. The joint Israeli-Palestinian musical piece will be recorded and distributed in Seeds of Peace events and local communities.
