Seeds of Peace

Building on the intensive experience of daily dialogue sessions at our Camp in Maine, Israeli, Palestinian, Egyptian and Jordanian Seeds meet several times each month to delve into the hardest issues of the conflict honestly and openly.
In dialogue, Seeds discuss the most painful and divisive issues of their country’s conflict in professionally-facilitated dialogue sessions, challenging inherited stereotypes and prejudices with real stories and experiences expressed openly with their peers. Trust and understanding is fostered through dialogue that encourages participants to empathize, communicate effectively, and demonstrate respect without regard to personal differences.
These dialogue sessions are run by Seeds of Peace-trained facilitators. Seeds of Peace offers a 15-month training course to young Israeli and Palestinian professionals, including many alumni Seeds, who want to develop skills as conflict-resolution facilitators. In, 2008, the Seeds of Peace Facilitators Course, led by Danny Metzl and Farhat Agbariyah, graduated 13 participants, 10 of whom are alumni Seeds. In 2009, 17 facilitators graduated from the Jerusalem-based program.
