Seeds of Peace

Since 2000, USAID has been an invaluable supporter of Seeds of Peace, greatly facilitating the organization’s mission of building a lasting peace in the Middle East and other regions of conflict. Over the last eight years, USAID’s generous assistance has funded Camp operations as well as international programming, thus making it possible for Seeds of Peace to expand the scope of its activities, and offer continual support to the leaders of tomorrow.

USAID helps support various Seeds of Peace projects that encourage the development of communication skills, dialogue, civic engagement, leadership, cross-cultural understanding, respect for difference, and the peaceful transformation of conflict.

Programming supported by the “Promoting Peace Education and Dialogue in Israeli and Palestinian Centers of Learning” USAID Cooperative Agreement included the following:

Peace Education Training:

• Delegation Leaders Program and Cross-border Bi-national Educators Workshops
• The Model Schools Initiative: Teaching Tolerance in Israeli and Palestinian Schools
• Workshops on Peaceful Learning Environments in the West Bank & Gaza
