Young Leadership Committee
Established in 1997 to develop a network of young, informed supporters, the Young Leadership Committee (YLC) has played an integral role in building a new constituency of donors among professionals in New York City.
In fact, the group’s fundraising efforts, including it’s annual “Bid for Peace” celebrity auction drove the successful expansion of the summer program in 1998 by funding a second Middle East camp session.
YLC also began the Seeds of Peace Forum on Conflict and Diplomacy [0], an educational lecture and speaker series that showcases leading foreign policy experts, academics, diplomats and journalists along with our Seeds of Peace graduates. For more information on upcoming events, please email info@seedsofpeace.org [1].
Regional Development
In an effort to raise awareness and expand our donor base, Seeds of Peace has established a critical base of support in various cities and regions in the United States.
Support in these areas is based on generating financial and governmental support for Seeds of Peace. Regional supporters and committees work closely with designated Seeds of Peace development staff to help create and implement fundraising initiatives, garner media attention and earn congressional support and recognition for Seeds of Peace programs.
Regional donations and all money raised from regional support are allocated to core Seeds of Peace programs and projects. Seeds of Peace currently has established a significant base of support in Maine, Michigan, Florida, Los Angeles, Scottsdale, AZ and the Washington, DC areas.
