Ashleigh Zimmerman is the primarily logistical and programmatic coordinator for the Seeds of Peace Graduate Association. The Graduate Association seeks to re-engage past Seeds of Peace participants who are now young professionals or completing university degrees. It also serves as a vehicle for all Graduates, in their diversity, to network, encourage and create local and regional initiatives to end conflict and promote cross-border opportunities.
Ashleigh has worked with NGOs in the field of Peace and Conflict Resolution for over four years. Ashleigh has traveled and conducted research extensively in the Middle East and Arab world, including research at the University of Tehran and the American University of Sharjah, in the United Arab Emirates. She has spoken on the power of youth to promote peace at the United Nations and International Youth Forum in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt.
"We are not idealistic youth with no grasp on the real world, nor do we have unrealistic visions of immediate peace and reconciliation. We are an army of peace-makers who support it because we know the bite of violence, the pain of losing so much."
